Abstract
The Personal Knowledge Management Scale for Quality Assurance Officers in Thai Higher Education Institutions
This research was conducted to develop personal knowledge management (PKM) scale with validity and reliability for quality assurance officers in Thai tertiary institutes. In this study, two phases which included the literature review and survey research were employed. In the first phase, the literature review on knowledge management and scale found 4 factors of knowledge management which could be measured by 15 question items. The validity value of the instrument was between 0.70 and 1.00. The reliability value of each factor was between 0.82 and 0.89. This instrument was employed in data collection in the second phase. In terms of data collection, 261 samples were drawn using multi-stage random sampling method, namely proportional stratified sampling, and simple random sampling. The scale analysis showed that the loading of variables passed the criterion (which was between 0.79 and 0.92). The Cronbach’s alpha value of each factor ranged from 0.79-0.90. The composite reliability was between 0.88 and 0.93 passing both convergent and discrimination validity. The analysis of the second-order model found 2 factors with high value of determination coefficient and moderate one from other 2 factors, and also the research findings revealed the total influence of knowledgemanagement factor at a significant level of .001. Based on the information mentioned above, the instrument could be used as a scale in measuring knowledge management of quality assurance officers.
