The Influence Factors on the Organizational Innovativeness of Agricultural Cooperatives in Thailand

Abstract

               The systematic development of the organizational innovativeness creates efficient operations and competitive advantages to the Thai agricultural cooperatives. The objective of this study is to examine the influence of market orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, supply chain orientation, and learning orientation on the organizational innovativeness of agricultural cooperatives in Thailand. The data are collected by the questionnaires with 339 samples from Thai agricultural cooperatives. Stepwise multiple regression is applied to examine the relationship. The results presented that learning orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, and supply chain orientation have positive effects on the organizational innovativeness of agricultural cooperatives in Thailand. The model can explain 69.28 percent of the variance in the data (p < 0.05). The Learning orientation factor is the most influential variable on organizational innovativeness, followed by entrepreneurial orientation and supply chain orientation, respectively. The findings of this research emphasize the importance of knowledge management, commitment to seeking business opportunities and collaboration among relevant partners within supply chain as the necessary driving forces of organizational innovativeness development in Thai agricultural cooperatives that could enhance the competitiveness of Thai agricultural cooperatives.
