Abstract

The objectives of this research article are 1) to study the community context of people in the highlands 2) to study the spatial development process of Phra Bandit Asa and Phra Dhammajarik. It is qualitative research. Study the concept of spatial development according to royal initiatives as a research framework. There were a sample size of 22 people using the purposive selection method. There are 2 types of research tools: 1) spatial survey 2) in-depth interview. Data were analyzed and described descriptively. The research results found that      

  1. The community context of people in the highlands has various geo-social costs. From basic information on debt, income, occupation, education level It was found that the poverty problem has not been resolved in a concrete way. Income that is not sufficient to cover expenses Accumulated debt According to material prosperity and the development of infrastructure in the four factors that increase from the social environment.
  2. The process of spatial development of Phra Bandit Asa and Phra Dhammajarik has 4 aspects based on Royal project : 1) prevention of soil degradation and erosion by vetiver grass, 2) development of forest restoration, 3) new theory, 4) development for self-sufficiency of farmer together with the mission of the monks to strengthen the community By improving the quality of life With the 4 principles of prayer: 1) Physically, with the 5 principles of well-being: food, stool, air, exercise, emotions. 2) Mentally, there is a Dhamma recitation on Buddhist holy days and important days of the community. 3) Socially, there are activities that support each other in the community with principle of Saraniyadhamma 4) Intellectual: there is the practice of Vipassana meditation to understand the 4 Noble Truths.

Even this process has not been able to solve the poverty problem in a concrete way. But it can be elevated to eco-cultural tourism. and the development of community products in the highlands to promote vocational rights, create income for the people in the highlands and stimulate the grassroots economics.
