An analysis of the medical narratives in the online literature community

The research aimed to study tale type, representations and, functions narrative of doctors. This research is qualitative using the concept Tale type, Representation and, Four Functions of Folklore from 42 stories in the lovecare station website. The findings are as followings : 1)Doctors’ narratives can be classified into 7 types : Namely unplanned pregnancy, Sexually transmitted disease, Contraception methods, Methods of birth, love without gender, Suicide and Self-mistrust. 2)Female representations can be classified as follows: An unplanned pregnancy is an unwanted woman from society, An abortion woman commits a sin, A woman carries a burden, A woman is abandoned and A woman is deceived. 3)Functions to tell a story of the doctors are to: A role to reflect a doctor’s identity, A role to provide space for a woman with unplanned pregnancy, A role to advise knowledge and suggestions, A role to be an exit for frustration, and A role to provide entertainment.
The findings show that conceptual framework; tale types, representations, and functions were used in the example for studying modern narratives on the internet.
