DELPHI TECHNIQUE IN AVIATION RESEARCH
Keywords:
Delphi technique, ; Future research, Aviation business, Aviation researchAbstract
Future research under turbulent and un-expectation situations is a high challenge for researchers. Single theory or simple simulation techniques, typically, cannot give a correct and appropriate result. Delphi Research Technique can help to solve these problems if undertaken with care, selecting direct involving experts, and un-bias conclusions. This type of research deploys rough statistical calculations, which are unsophisticated, it doesn't take much time and the cost is low. This academic article aims to present 1) principles and methods for implementing the Delphi technique, 2) examples of aviation business research that can be used further. Results of the study found that there are two categories of research that use the Delphi technique: classic and modified. This method of study is appropriate for applying research findings to decision-making or operational planning. It is recommended to use a team of at least 17 specialists to lower the error rate. Body of knowledge from this article can be utilized to find information from opinion surveys for use in particular tasks. Both for upcoming studies and other academic projects. This is because the research conducted with the Delphi technique results in a well-structured and opinion filtering procedure. Because data were from both experts in groups that have good relationships with each other and those that have conflicts.
