Abstract

According to the contemparary world of "Visual Culture,’’ illustration had increasingly been crucial to books for children, as they need to compete with other easy-to-access visual medias like television and electronics medias. This article introduce children's books illustration as an art form, which Quentin Blake, the first Children’s Laureate of England, had been trying to promote throughout his life. The article presents the importance of children’ ร books illustration, Blake’s biography, his work, the distinguished character of his work, his accomplishment as the first Children's Laureate, his success as beloved children’s books illustrator and children’s books illustrator as a career.
