Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the content of Thai political weblogs both in Thai and in English during 2011-2014 and to study the role of political weblogsin Thai political communication. The research found that the author of Thai political weblog who had the most posts was NidhiEoseewong. Most Thai political webloggers were specialized in history, political science, and social scienceswhile more than a half of Thai political webloggersdid not identify contact information. The mostly used Thai subject heading was political violence. Most posts did not have references and there was no comment. However, if there was so, it was a supportive one by an anonymous. Most posts were reposted from other sourcesand the most were fromMatichon Online (www.matichon.co.th). Two major purposes for writing political weblogs were to give a criticism and to provide political information. Obviously. Thai political weblogs played three important roles in political communication as follows:social narrative, Thai political knowledge weblogs and space for online political engagement.
