Abstract

The sequences between the compound verbs of direction after verb and non-location objects are very complicated, one form of performance for one-to-one corresponding directional complements, which significantly in the use of asymmetry. Syntactic such asymmetry at the level of distribution, not only foreign students feel helpless, many Chinese as their first language users also quite confusing. Therefore, the paper makes a certain interpretation on the asymmetry phenomenon, by using the marker theory, mainly from the perspective of grammaticalization, with a total of diachronic and synchronic research on the compound verbs of direction after verb and non-location objects. That "Vq lai" relative "Vq qu" the weak marker, making the sequences between "Vq lai" and non-location objects are broader than "Vq qu".
