Abstract

The research aimed to: 1) examine the levels of organizational climate, quality of work life, and burnout among police officers, 2) compare burnout among police officers based on differences in personal factors, 3) investigate the relationship between organizational climate and burnout among police officers, and 4) investigate the relationship between quality of work life and burnout among police officers. The sample consisted of 234 police officers selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed using a statistical package program. The statistics used are percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and F-test (One-way ANOVA). Post-hoc comparisons were conducted using the Least Significant Difference (LSD) method and Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results revealed that: 1) the organizational climate and quality of work life of police officers were at a high level, whereas burnout was at a moderate, 2) police officers with different gender and job types exhibited significantly different levels of burnout at the .05 level, 3) there was negative correlation between organizational climate and burnout with statistical significant at .01 level, and 4) there was negative correlation between quality of work life was negatively and burnout with statistical significant at .01 level.
