The Occult and The Development of the Quality of Life

Abstract
The research article consisted the objective that analyze, appreciation and application the occult for the development of the quality of life according to the moderate postmodern philosophical paradigm. This study employed philosophical research methods. Gathering the most important information from the text, Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics is presented using dialectics approaches and interpret by reader according to the theory of fusion of horizon. From the study, the following results are found:
- Hermeneutics according to the reader, occult interpreted metaphysically as a dualism which is the reality of mind and the reality of matter coexist. Mind has power, matter has power. Each has power and can use the power to produce results.
- Analysis with dialectical method found; 1) the opponents as the modern philosophical paradigm proposed a reason: One should distinguish among the occult in the knowledge network. What parts are unclear knowledge? or the acquisition of knowledge cannot be verified empirically, it should be omitted and not used. The filtered part is only the good part. It is a clear and reliable body of knowledge of methods and processes for acquiring knowledge. When it must be applied in life or in various fields, it can be verified and considered according to normative ethical principles. 2) Researchers criticize opponents' neutrality in the occult as Francis Bacon's prejudice. It is the idol of marketplace and theater, the prejudice of language and cultural tendency, tradition and religion regard superstition as absurd belief, which is stupid and ignorant. And 3) The researchers had the reasons, the moderate postmodern philosophy, to argue that: (1) the occults is a truth in absolutism; (2) occult is a fundamental belief in society; (3) neo-pragmatism guarantees the goodness of occult; and (4) occult supported the power of creation, adaptation, cooperation, and acquisitioning of postmodern philosophy paradigm.
- Appreciation; the value of meaning and a picture of reality, confirming that the occult can be applied to improve the quality of life through a moderate postmodern philosophical paradigm.
- Application; the research findings can be applied at the individual and societal levels to support the holistic creation of supportive human-to-human relationships, man and nature and between humans and supernatural beings
