STRATEGIES FOR LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Logistic activities is a part of cost creation within an organization which consequently affect to profit and organizational growth. At the macro level, logistic has an impact on economic system and social activities in term of transferring of goods and services to the consumers. Key success factors of logistic tasks is staffs in every department within an organization that must have high capability, responsibility, and ability to face with some challenge situation in the future. Then, there is linkage between logistic management and human resource development that must be congruent by focusing on organizational cost reduction. From the analysis of other research, the results found that the management of two parts as logistic strategic management and human resource development have to be conducted systematically by holistic approach in relation with multi-disciplinary knowledge. The management must concentrate from the strategic level to the operational level by focusing on employee development to gain capability appropriate to the challenge of dynamic in future situation. Consequently, it will affect to sustainable growth of firms. The detail for implication for practice can be determined in its input factors composed of budget, person, and supporting factors. In determining the dynamic mechanism, this is concerned with leadership, employee participation, communication, motivation, and logistic evaluation. The management have to conduct these activities in holistic approach with high efficiency under firms’ limitation.
