Abstract

After Thailand adopted Constitutional Monarchy in B.E. 2475, the status of the Thai king has drastically changed. The king is no longer the owner of the state property. Nevertheless, legislation has been made to ensure the efficiency of the management of the Crown Property. There have been three important acts: The Crown Property Act B.E. 2479, The Crown Property Act B.E. 2560 and The Crown Property Act B.E. 2561. The main purposes of these statutes are to ensure the convenient management of the crown property and to ensure that the management is in compliance with the dynamism in the society. This article has two objectives: first, to point out the origins of the three related acts; and second, to compare the contents of the management of the Crown Property, the categorizations of the Crown Property, and the management of the termination of the Crown Property.
