COMMUNITY COMMUNICATOR’ S SKILL DEVELOPMENT OF SMARTPHONE USING FOR PRODUCING NEWS

Abstract

           


Today, news organizations or big news agencies are turning to use smartphones to produce news published in society as same as to use larger video camera. Community communicators or people in the community can use smartphones for publishing news as well. Therefore, smartphones are like a factor in life with advanced technology modernization and the emphasis on the speed of publishing. However, based on the SWOT analysis, it was found that using smartphones in news production has both strengths and weaknesses. However in the future, modern technology is expected to help eliminate the weaknesses of smartphones in the production process. There will be the higher resolution and potential of the camera installed on the smartphone and social media communication channels of smartphones that meet the needs of audiences in the community. Besides, the equipment which is important to produce news in community, the person called community communicators are equally important. They are backpackers who need to have skills in producing news; especially, the use of smartphones to help create the news in the community. Therefore, this academic article wanted to present the guidelines for the development of people in the community to be backpackers and using smartphones to produce effective news in their community.
