The Development of a Learning Activity Package in Music and Art Education Integrating Artificial Intelligence Technology to Enhance Aesthetic Awareness Among Undergraduate Students

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) develop a music and art learning activity package integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology; 2) study the appropriateness of the developed package; and 3) evaluate the aesthetic awareness of students after implementing the activities. The sample consisted of 161 undergraduate students, selected through purposive sampling. The learning package comprised 10 units, integrating Creative Learning, Experiential Learning, and AI technology. Research instruments included an appropriateness evaluation form for the learning package and a 5-component self-assessment form for aesthetic awareness.

The research findings were as follows:
1. The 10 learning activity units passed content validity testing by experts, with an Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) ranging from 0.80 to 1.00. This exceeds the specified criterion (IOC ≥ 0.50), indicating that the activities are consistent with the learning objectives and appropriate for implementation.
2. The overall appropriateness of the learning package was at a high level ( = 4.50, S.D.= 0.51). The aspect with the highest mean was the congruence of learning objectives, demonstrating that the package is systematic, possesses clear procedures, and is suitable for actual classroom instruction.
3. The overall aesthetic awareness after implementation was at a high level ( = 4.25, S.D.=0.54), with all components rated at a high level. The component with the highest mean was Art Appreciation ( = 4.41), while Aesthetic Creativity (=4.12) had the lowest mean.
These results reflect that the developed learning activity package effectively creates an environment conducive to promoting students' aesthetic awareness.
