About the Journal

Aims
The Music and Performing Arts Journal (MUSPAJ), Khon Kaen University, is an academic journal published by the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University. The journal aims to serve as a scholarly platform for knowledge exchange and the dissemination of research in music and performing arts. MUSPAJ publishes Research Articles, Academic Articles, Review Articles, Practice-led/Exegesis Articles, and Book/Performance Reviews that reflect the diverse landscapes of knowledge in music, dance, performing arts, and related fields. The journal seeks to promote both theoretical and practice-based scholarship, encouraging innovative, interdisciplinary, and culturally grounded research in music and performing arts.

Scope
MUSPAJ welcomes manuscripts addressing any topic related to music and performing arts, in both theoretical and practical dimensions. Submissions may include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
1. Research and Theoretical Perspectives: Music and performing arts research; Theoretical and practice-based research in music, dance, and performing arts; Music, dance, and performance studies in social, cultural, and historical contexts; Philosophical inquiries, music theory, performance theory, and aesthetic perspectives informing creative practices and audience reception
2. Creative Practices and Techniques: Creative processes in music, dance, and performing arts; Contemporary and traditional practices, transmission of knowledge, and innovation; Performance techniques, music performance, dance performance, and acting; Music composition, arranging, orchestration, and sound development; Playwriting, dramaturgy, script analysis, adaptation, and translation for performance; Directing, choreography, and design for performance.
3. Production, Management and Technology: Production and management in music and performing arts; Use of digital technology in sound, image, and multimedia performance; Applications of music and performance in various social and interdisciplinary contexts; Music, dance, and performance for physical, mental, and social well-being.
4. Education and Interdiciplinary Integration: Music, dance, and performance education; creative learning; Interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary approaches in music and performing arts; Contemporary performance, experimental practices, sound-based practices, and media arts; Integration of music and performing arts with other art forms in contemporary contexts

Publication Ethics
Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal. All submissions undergo a rigorous review process by qualified experts from multiple institutions through a double-blinded peer-review system and must receive approval from the Editorial Board prior to publication.

The views expressed in published articles are solely those of the authors. The editors, editorial board, and journal staff do not necessarily share these views and assume no responsibility for them. In cases of plagiarism or copyright infringement, the authors bear full responsibility.

Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to MUSPAJ undergo evaluation by at least three qualified peer reviewers in a double-blinded review process, in which reviewers and authors remain anonymous.

Language
MUSPAJ publishes articles in Thai and English.

MUSPAJ publishes three issues per year:
