Sawathi to Sudsanan: The Creative of Contemporary I-san Folk Music from

Abstract

The writer wrote from memorandum of the Contemporary I-san Folk Music Based on Local Communities “Sudsanan” since May to June 2019. This creative of contemporary I-san Folk music continued from “Sin Sai Roo Jai Ton” and associated with Pachaya Akkapram this also the first time that writer worked with theater arts. This creative of music used for theater arts same as Sin Sai Roo Jai Ton, but the story, role and technique were different. The writer used the workshop, experiment, research, changed techniques and the new presentation. Sin Sai Roo Jai Ton was the puppet show, the story was adventure with many obstacles. The creative of contemporary I-san folk music focused on melody, rhythm and used music improvisation. For this creative work the writer changed the work technique that focused on tone color and developed to create more emotion. “Sudsanan” was the theater arts about the memorable of community from Sawathi Village Sawathi Subdistrict Muang Khon Kean.
