บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้นำเสนอแนวทางใหม่ในการศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ของชนชั้นกลางไทยเชื้อสายจีนผ่านกรอบประวัติศาสตร์ความรู้สึก โดยบทความนี้แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ส่วน ส่วนแรกเป็นการถกเถียงเพื่อชี้ให้เห็นความสำคัญของการประยุกต์ใช้กรอบการศึกษาในแนวทางประวัติศาสตร์ความรู้สึกกับการศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ของชนชั้นกลางไทยเชื้อสายจีนต่อวงวิชาการประวัติศาสตร์ไทย พร้อมชี้ให้เห็นว่าการประยุกต์ใช้ดังกล่าวช่วยเติมเต็มการศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ความรู้สึกในวงวิชาการนานาชาติอย่างไร ขณะเดียวกันส่วนแรกของบทความนี้ ยังเสนอแนวทางที่เป็นไปได้สำหรับการประยุกต์ใช้กรอบแนวทางประวัติศาสตร์ความรู้สึกกับการศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ความรู้สึกของชนชั้นกลางไทยเชื้อสายจีน ส่วนที่สองของบทความเป็นการนำแนวทางที่ได้เสนอในส่วนแรกของบทความมาประยุกต์ใช้เพื่อชี้ให้เห็นความเป็นไปได้และภาพที่ชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้นของการศึกษาประวัติศาสตร์ความรู้สึกของชนชั้นกลางไทยเชื้อสายจีน
