Changes of the Journal Operation
Posted on 2018-11-02Announcement from the Editorial Board of Chiang Mai University Journal of Humanities
The Editorial Board would like to inform authors and readers of the following important changes in the journal’s operations:
-
Change in publication format:
The journal will shift from publishing in both print and electronic formats to publishing exclusively in electronic format, effective from Volume 20, Issue 1 onwards. -
Change in publication frequency:
The journal will increase its publication frequency from two issues per year (Issue 1: January–June, and Issue 2: July–December) to three issues per year, as follows:
-
Issue 1: January–April
-
Issue 2: May–August
-
Issue 3: September–December
This change will also take effect from Volume 20, Issue 1 onwards.
-
Change in reference formatting style:
The reference formatting guidelines will change from APA 6th edition (with all references translated into English) to the latest APA edition, with updated language guidelines as follows:
-
For Thai-language articles:
-
If the reference source is in Thai, the bibliography should be in Thai.
-
If the reference source is in English or another foreign language, the bibliography should be in English. The author may separate the language categories into a distinct section after the Thai-language bibliography.
-
Since the journal primarily considers the language used in the referenced content, if the content of a reference source is in Thai but the author’s name appears in English (e.g., information from a website), the author should place this reference at the end of the Thai language reference list.
-
-
For English-language articles:
-
If the reference source is in English, the bibliography should be in English.
-
If the reference source is in Thai or another foreign language, the author should translate the bibliography into English and include the title of the book, article, or information in Thai or the original language in square brackets [ ] after the English title.
-
This new reference guideline will be applied starting from Volume 24, Issue 1 (January–April 2023) onwards.
