การศึกษาเพื่อสร้างความเป็นพสกนิกรที่เชื่อง: นัยยะของการศึกษาวิชาหน้าที่พลเมืองในโรงเรียนไทย

บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้อาศัยแนวคิด “การสอนแบบจารีตนิยม”ตามทัศนะของจอห์น ดิวอี และแนวคิด “การศึกษาแบบธนาคาร” ของเปาโล เฟรเร เพื่อศึกษาถึงเนื้อหาหลักสูตรการเรียนการสอนในส่วนของวิชาที่เกี่ยวกับหน้าที่พลเมืองในระดับประถมศึกษาและมัธยมศึกษา โดยอิงจากกลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้สังคมศึกษา ศาสนาและวัฒนธรรม ตามหลักสูตรแกนกลางการศึกษาขั้นพื้นฐาน พ.ศ.2551 ผู้เขียนใช้วิธีการศึกษาในเชิงเอกสารเป็นหลัก โดยพิจารณาจากคู่มือครู หนังสือ ตํารา แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ หนังสือเสริมความรู้ ใบงาน แบบฝึกหัด ข้อสอบและกิจกรรมการเรียนการสอนอื่น ๆ ตลอดจน สื่อการสอนของครูในวิชาหน้าที่พลเมือง ข้อถกเถียงหลักของบทความนี้คือ เนื้อหาวิชาหน้าที่พลเมืองที่ถูกใช้สอนนักเรียนได้ทําหน้าที่อย่างแข็งขันในการ “สั่งและยัดเยียด” และ “ปรารถนา” ให้หน้าที่ของพลเมืองไทยต้องเท่ากับการเป็น “พสกนิกรที่เชื่องภายใต้ระบอบประชาธิปไตยอันมีพระมหากษัตริย์ทรงเป็นประมุข” เพียงเท่านั้น ผลที่ตามมาจึงก่อให้เกิดผลเสียต่อการก่อร่างสร้างรูปพลเมืองที่ควรจะเป็นและส่งผลเสียต่อกระบวนการสร้างระบอบประชาธิปไตยในสังคมไทย
