The Creation of Student Voice as the Citizen in the 21st Century with a Critical Classroom Learning Process

Abstract
This research article aims to explore the concepts of critical thinking and critical pedagogy for creating student voice as the citizen in the 21stcentury through the community of philosophical inquiry learning approach and intends to point out that the classroomsshould be safe spacesfor learners to engagein practicingas speakers and create their voices in meaningfulnessand responsibility which is essential to the citizen in the 21stcentury. The content of an article is divided into two related parts; the first part presents the importance of critical pedagogy and critical thinking process on teaching and learning in the classroom. The second part reveals the examples of a learning process in acritical classroomwhere the concepts of critical pedagogy and critical thinking are applied as resources for practicing students through a participatory learning approach in the community of philosophical inquiry activity. The methodology isparticipatory action research(PAR) and is presented in analytical description combined with storytelling form based on examples of activities in a critical classroom.
