Abstract

Abstract


            The purpose of this research were 1) to study the result of the “5 Precepts Village” policy of the Lopburi Province, 2) to study the factor that influence the result of the “5 Precepts Village” policyof the Lopburi Province, and 3) to create an effective model which drive the “5 Precepts Village” policyto become successful through trial and practice. This research was a mix research between qualitative and quantitative. The study sample were the population of Lopburi of 4,400 individuals. The key informants were program board member at the provincial level, district level, and village level which comprised of Provincial Abbot, District Abbot, community leader or representative, and the head or representative of the Buddhism institution of the Lopburi province. The key informant for the trial of 5 Precepts Village driving model of the Sam KhokDistrict, PathumThani Province, were District Abbot, all temple’s abbot in the district, community leader or representative, and the Head of the Cultural Office, PathumThani Province. The quantitative data is analyzed using descriptive statistic of amount, mean percentage, standard deviation. The analysis of qualitative data is done by content analysis, summarization, and interpretation within the premise of the research question.The result showed that: 1) On the factor that influence the result of the “5 Precepts Village”, overall was in high level. Once looking into each aspect, it was found that the mean is in high level. These aspects are “the purpose of 5 Precepts Village policy”, the next were “The attitude or acceptance toward 5 Precepts Villagepolicy”, and lastly were “the participation in the 5 Precepts Village policy”. 2) The overall result of the action and driving of 5 Precepts Village policy were in high level. Once looking into each aspect, it was found that the mean is in high level. These aspects are “The people register to be a part of the 5 Precepts Village program”, secondly “The people commit in more public benefit after the 5 Precepts Villageprogram”, and lastly “after undertaking the 5 Precepts Village program, the people abstain from liquor”. 3) For the model that drives “5 Precepts Village” policy successfully, the key are to communicate the goal of the policy so that the representative of each section would understand, motivated, and become aware. This will lead to participation and cooperation in driving the policy in each step.
