Quality of Life of Prisoners in Nong Khai Province Prison

Abstract
This research article aims to: 1. Investigate the quality of life among inmates in prisons within Nong Khai Province. 2. Compare the quality of life among inmates in prisons within Nong Khai Province based on personal characteristics. 3.Propose strategies for improving the quality of life among inmates in prisons within Nong Khai Province.The research utilizes both quantitative and qualitative approaches, selecting a sample group from a population of 1,047 individuals using Taro Yamane's formula, resulting in a sample size of 290 people. Data collection methods include questionnaires and interviews. Content validity ranges from 0.67 to 1.00, with a reliability coefficient of .933. Data analysis involves statistical techniques such as percentages, means, standard deviations, t-tests, and F-tests.
The research findings are as follows: 1. Overall, the quality of life among inmates in prisons within Nong Khai Province is found to be high. 2. When comparing the quality of life among inmates in prisons within Nong Khai Province based on different personal characteristics, respondents with varying personal characteristics showed no significant differences in their quality of life. 3. Recommendations for improving the quality of life among inmates include: Adjusting the taste of food and increasing seafood options, as current provisions are inadequate for daily life. Providing more clothing, especially during cold seasons, as inmates lack sufficient clothing for warmth. Increasing the distribution of blankets and mattresses, especially during colder weather. Expanding sleeping quarters and adjusting bedtime schedules to accommodate more inmates. Providing additional medical equipment, supplies, and medications for treating illnesses, as the inmate population increases and various diseases become more prevalent. Increasing the number of nursing and mental health staff to meet the growing demands of the inmate population and the rising prevalence of diseases. Additionally, medications should be made more effective.
