Perception of the Boon Bang Fai Festival in Yasothon Province

Abstract

The Bun Bangfai Festival is therefore considered an important annual tradition of the Isan people. The Bun Bangfai Festival of Yasothon Province is considered a cultural product or cultural capital of the province that is famous throughout the country and around the world. There is a belief in the worship of Phraya Than who is responsible for making sure it rains according to the season. The objectives of this research are 1) to study perceptions about the Bun Bangfai Festival in Yasothon Province. 2) To study the satisfaction of project participants in order to create awareness about organizing the Bun Bangfai Festival in Yasothon Province. 3) To study the needs of the people regarding the organization of the Bun Bangfai Festival in Yasothon Province. 4) To study guidelines for promoting and supporting the use of cultural capital related to organizing the Bun Bangfai Festival in Yasothon Province to create social value and increase economic value create a source of career and income for people in the local community. And 5) to study suggestions regarding the organization of the Bun Bangfai Festival in Yasothon Province. The population includes 538,411 people residing in Yasothon Province, a sample group of 450 people. The research tools were a questionnaire and a
discussion forum by 11 experts. The results of the research found that people in Yasothon Province have a high level of opinions regarding the organization of the Bun Bangfai Festival in Yasothon Province. Has a high average in all aspects (x ̅= 4.17, S.D. = 0.65). Suggestions and guidelines for using cultural capital to create social value and increase economic value in local communities consist of 4 issues as follows: 1) The cultural objects that occur with Bun Bangfai include the rocket itself, decorate Bangfai, and activities. 2) The public sector must have unity. 3) The government sector must provide support. 4) Management system or mechanism This can be divided into two things: 1) Cancel the provincial announcement. 2) A master plan should be prepared by the Cultural Council to include guidelines for upgrading the organization of the Bun Bangfai Festival.
