People’s participation in Preventing and Correcting Electoral Corruption in Muang District,Nong Bua Lamphu Province

Abstract
This research aims to 1) Study a level of public participation in preventing and correcting electoral corruptions in Mueang District, Nong Bua Lam Phu Province, 2) Compare public participation in preventing and correcting electoral corruptions in Mueang District, Nong Bua Lam Phu Province, The sample group of this mixed methods research including qualitative and quantitative methods was 400 electors under Mueang District, Nong Bua Lam Phu Province and 12 key informants. Research instruments included a questionnaire and in-depth interview form. Data analysis used Statistical Package for the Social Sciences and content analysis.
Research findings revealed that
1) A level of public participation in preventing and correcting electoral corruptions in Mueang District, Nong Bua Lam Phu Province was in general at a high level. When considered each dimension, the campaign against electoral fraud got the highest average which was 4.14, followed by prevention and correction of electoral fraud based on the Principle of Good Faith, working together between departments, public relations of no electoral fraud, education, and electoral fraud study which had the average of 3.93, 3.91, 3.91, 3.90, and 3.90 respectively.
2) People of different genders and ages had no difference in participation in preventing and correcting electoral fraud. People with different levels of education, occupation and average monthly income had different participation in preventing and correcting electoral fraud at statistically significant level of 0.05.
