The Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Policy Implementation from the Perspectives of Private Sector Cooperation and Employed Disables: The case study of Loxley Public Company Limited’s disables employment
Abstract
The Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act, B.E. 2550 (2007) lawfully guaranties the quality of life for persons with disabilities. This article studies the implementation of the Act in the case of employment the disabled by the Loxley Public Company Limited. This research employs qualitative research method by searching related documents and interviewing 6 company representatives and 5 employed disables. The findings are the company complying with the law and maximizing its benefits at the same time is a reason for employing the disable athletes so that it does not have to send its money to the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Fund. However, form the company perspective it does not cooperate with the public sector in any way in improving the disables’ quality of life. The most important suggestion is public agency should open the platform to clarify and listen to the comments concerning rules and regulations relating to the employment of persons with disabilities and the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Fund.
