The development of the management model to drive knowledge from research to the provincial development

This study explored the development of the management model to drive knowledge from research to the provincial development based on the management of spatial research of Lampang Rajabhat University under the concept of “One Faculty, One Model”. The concept of “One Faculty, One Model” aims to create the research management system for the faculties participating in the project, and organize the project to create researchers to develop areas or serve society under budget support from TRF and Lampang Rajabhat University. It is expected that these faculties will be able to use the research process as a tool for the development of area.    

          The results were as follows. 1. The system for the development of research problems and research proposals: It is operated to allow research to responds to the needs of the   research users, including community input, government organizations, private sector and educational institutions that are important parts in the development of research problems. The provincial strategic agencies also have additional opinions and comments on the part of data collection or consideration of research problems in that area. It is recommended that the relevant organizations or officers in the area should participate in the data collection process to bring about the determination of research problems. Most of the previous research was based on the needs of researchers (Demand), but it lacked participation from agencies who were the research users at the provincial level (Supply). 2. The system for monitoring and supporting research: In terms of the process of supporting research conduction for provincial development, in addition to the spatial research process that consists of research-based collaboration and facilitation of research conduction, collaboration between networks and research users should be encouraged. For example, the meetings between researchers and agencies who are the research users and field trips for jointly conducting research should be organized. The university should also have a central organization that acts as a link between researchers and research users. 3. The system for driving research to local development: Apart from the process of driving research by presenting research results to research users in various forms such as organizing an exhibition to present research results to originations at the provincial level, the university should synthesize the research with the similar concept carried out by several research projects and related sub-projects in order to visualize the whole project from upstream to downstream, which will lead to policy recommendations and provincial development strategies.
