PSPP : โปรแกรมทางเลือกในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเพื่อการวิจัย

Abstract

บทความนี้เขียนขึ้นเพื่อแนะนำและชี้ให้เห็นความเหมือนและความแตกต่างของโปรแกรม PSPP (perfect statistics professionally presented) โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปรหัสเปิด (open-source software) เพื่อการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลการวิจัยผู้ใช้ไม่ต้องเสียค่าใช้จ่ายใดๆ โดยโปรแกรมดังกล่าวมีจุดมุ่งหมายในการพัฒนาขึ้นเพื่อใช้แทนโปรแกรมที่มีลิขสิทธิ์อย่างโปรแกรม SPSS หรือ PASW หรือ ปัจจุบัน IBM Statistics ซึ่งเป็นโปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปที่คุ้นเคยในหมู่นักวิจัย บทความนี้เริ่มจากการแนะนำให้ผู้อ่านได้รู้จักกับโปรแกรม PSPP จุดเด่นของโปรแกรม PSPP นอกจากจะไม่ต้องเสียค่าใช้จ่ายในการใช้งานแล้วยังมีการใช้งานที่ง่ายเนื่องจากมี interface เหมือนกับโปรแกรมตระกูล SPSS ทั้งในส่วนของการบันทึกข้อมูล การสร้างและแก้ไขตัวแปร การจัดกระทำข้อมูล หรือการวิเคราะห์ขอ้มูล ทั้งสถิติเชิงพรรณนา สถิติอ้างอิง ตลอดจนสถิติสำหรับการตรวจสอบความเชื่อมั่นของเครื่องมือการวิจัย และสุดท้ายบทความนี้ได้ชี้ให้เห็นข้อจำกัดบางประการในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลของโปรแกรม PSPP สำหรับสถิติบางตัว เพื่อให้ผู้อ่านได้นำไปพิจารณาเป็นทางเลือกเพื่อสร้างทางเลือกสำหรับการใช้โปรแกรมสำเร็จรูปสำหรับการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเพื่อการวิจัยเพิ่มขึ้น

PSPP: an Alternative Data Analysis Software for Research Purposes

This article aimed to introduce and compare PSPP (perfect statisticsprofessionally presented), the open-source data analysis software for research purposes,with the commonly used commercial software SPSS, or also known as PASW or, now,IBM SPSS Statistics. The article starts with the introduction to PSPP. Not only the software is free of charge, but also easy for application due to its similar interface toSPSS software series in terms of data entry, variables creating and editing, and dataoperation and transformation. Moreover, PSPP perfectly capable to analyze data throughthe use of descriptive statistics, inferential statistics and statistics for validity andreliability measurement in order to identify confidence levels of research tools.This article also points out limitations to some statistical tools in the PSPP that can helpreaders consider it as one of the alternative statistical packages for their data analysis.
