A Training Curriculum Development to Enhance Research-based Instruction for Teachers

The objective of this research was to develop a training curriculum to enhance research-based instruction for teachers in basic education. The first step was to study the base-line data. The second step was developing training curriculum and a pilot test. The third step was to use the training curriculum with teachers in the sample group. The fourth step was to evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum. The research results were that teachers were knowledgeable and capable of research-based instruction at the higher statistically significant .01 level and that students learn by using the research process, also, at the higher statistically significant .01 level. Moreover, the training curriculum provided principles to govern the operation of the school culture, intending to cover both the knowledge and ability in research-based instruction. The learning material covers the research activities of the four theoretical and practical training materials for a period of 4 weeks of training, with a set of lecture notes and chapter operations; and the ability of learning by using research as a teacher as well as the learning skills of students using the research process were evaluated.
