Abstract


The purposes of this research are to study the success or of failure in establishing mathematics and science gifted classrooms in schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission. This research will also be used to study on the correlation between the factors of the students the classroom, the level of the school, the rate of success in terms of establishing mathematics and science gifted classrooms in schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission. The samples were grade nine and grand twelve students who being collected from purposive sampling, teachers were collected by quota sampling , and using purposive sampling to collect samples of administrators from secondary schools in the 2016 academic year and one thousand eight hundred and fourty sample were collected. The tools employer in this research was a questionnaires. The data analysis used mean, standard deviation, the Paarson correlation coefficient, multilevel analysis and causal analysis.

The results of the study indicated the following: 1) The rate of success in establishing mathematics  and science gifted classrooms in schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission was in excellent level. 2) The Student factors included learning skills, achievement motivation, economic status and the learning behavior of students. The classroom factors included teacher characteristics such as teaching behavior. The school factors consisted of curriculum and management those have a relationship and significantly effect the success of establishing mathematics and science gifted classrooms in schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission 3) The model of factors affecting the success of establishing mathematics and science gifted classrooms in schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commissionwas consistent with the empirical data.
