JOPAG Ethics Policy

The following ethical guidelines must be strictly adhered to by all parties involved in the publication process:

  1. Publisher Ethics

The Journal of Politics and Governance upholds a strict ethics policy and employs Turnitin, a reputable plagiarism detection software, to meticulously screen all submitted manuscripts for instances of plagiarism. Should an article contain plagiarized material exceeding 30 percent, it will be promptly returned to the author for thorough revision and clarification. Failure to adhere to these guidelines will result in the article being disqualified from consideration for publication in our journal. All stakeholders involved in the publication process of the Journal of Politics and Governance are expected to adhere to the guidelines set forth by “The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)” (https://publicationethics.org/) in order to maintain the integrity and credibility of our publication.

  1. Ethics for Authors:
  • Authors are obliged to submit original manuscripts that have not been published elsewhere.
  • Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journal(s) for simultaneous publication.
  • All sources used in the manuscript must be appropriately cited by the author(s).
  • Authors must not submit the work of others and claim it as their own.
  1. Ethics for Reviewers: 
  • Reviewers are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of the submitted manuscript and refrain from disclosing any part of it to a third party.
  • Reviewers must evaluate the submitted manuscript based on accuracy, rationality, and fairness.
  • Reviewers must provide timely and constructive feedback on the manuscript.
  • In case of a conflict of interest with the author, it is the responsibility of the reviewer to immediately inform the editors.
  1. Ethics for Editors: 
  • Editors are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of authors' and reviewers' information and refrain from disclosing it to a third party.
  • Editors must evaluate the quality of the submitted manuscript based on accuracy, rationality, and fairness.
  • Editors must not have any conflict of interest with authors and reviewers.
  • Editors must provide timely and constructive feedback on the manuscript to improve its quality.
