The Effect of Active Learning Management Affecting Learning Achievement and Creativity in Aesthetics and art Criticism for students of Prince of Songkla University

Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) to compare of the learning achievement before and after by Active Learning and 2) to compare the creative abilities before and after by Active Learning in aesthetics and art criticism for students of Prince of Songkla University. The samples was 24 undergraduate students in the senior of art major using cluster random sampling by drawing slot using the classroom as a random unit. The research instruments were 1) The lesson plans of active learning 2) Achievement test on the topic 20 questions with 4 choices, validity level between 0.67-1.00, difficulty level between 0.39 to 0.78, the discrimination value between 0.21 to 0.79, and the reliability at 0.79. and 3) A creative abilities test with the most appropriate level (ð‘ĨĖ… = 4.55). The statistics used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation and t-test for dependent.


The research found that 1) the students who study after learning by the active learning was higher than before at .05 (ð‘ĨĖ… = 16.36) and 2) analysis of the creative abilities of students in Art in the active learning with significant difference of .05 (ð‘ĨĖ… = 14.64). In conclusion, active learning encouraged the achievement and the creative abilities of students.
