Cultural Tourism Motivation to Ko Kret, Nonthaburi Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were analyzing the motivation of high school students toward cultural tourism at Ko Kret, Nonthaburi Province. The target group consisted of 30 high school students residing in Nonthaburi Province, selected through purposive sampling. The study employed qualitative data analysis using typological analysis. The research tools included document studies, interview forms, and field note forms for collecting the data was high because the value of Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient was 0.926. Data was analyzed descriptively and through content analysis.


Research Findings: Most high school students visited Ko Kret, Nonthaburi for the first time, with the goal of exploring new and unique destinations. The activities were related to cultural learning in areas such as history, traditions, and culture, sourced from various information platforms like Facebook, websites, and different applications. The analysis of key motivational factors in tourism revealed five main aspects: 1) The reputation of Ko Kret, Nonthaburi 2) Experience with local Nonthaburi cuisine 3) Convenient boat transportation 4) Harmony with nature and Mon community culture 5) Service and safety Additionally, the most influential motivation was traveling with parents for relaxation, stress relief, and recovery from physical and mental fatigue through a variety of activities such as Mon pottery, traditional Thai desserts, learning about the "Three Cultures River", batik making, and Muslim cooking and dessert workshops.
