Guidelines for the Development of Graduate Programs focus on Outcome Learning along with the Standard Criteria for Graduate Studies Curriculum of 2022: in Curriculum and Instruction Western University

Abstract

This research aimed to explore Curriculum development and improvement guidelines along with the Standard Criteria for Graduate Studies Curriculum of 2022. The operation research was used to collect qualitative data. Sample groups comprised ten teachers from the Graduate Department of Western University, 13 graduated students in the Master of Education Program and the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Curriculum and Instruction as customers, and 12 stakeholders were Graduate users. The research instruments included:
1) Focus Group Interview about the opinions, perceptions, feelings, emotions, qualities, and expectations concerning curriculum and instruction. 2) The Curriculum Development Process Form and 3) The Internal Audit Checklist of the curriculum and the Standard Criteria for Graduate Studies Curriculum of 2022. The data were analyzed by content analysis.

The research findings are significant in the context of Curriculum development and improvement, as they provide clear guidelines for the Standard Criteria for Graduate Studies Curriculum of 2022. These findings are as follows:

Step 1 Study and Collect specific data sets concerning the Curriculum and the Standard Criteria for the Graduate Studies Curriculum of 2022.

Step 2 Develop Program Learning Outcomes.

Step 3 Curriculum Design according to Program Learning Outcomes.

Step 4 Set details for the designed curriculum according to the Standard Criteria for Graduate Studies Curriculum 2022.

Step 5 Audit the curriculum details based on the Standard Criteria for Graduate Studies Curriculum 2022 and Inspection to certify standards.
