Public hearing for the principal city plan of Songkhla’s deep sea port, Songkhla Province in accordance with The Town and Country Planning Act B.E. 2019

Abstract

          This research article entitled public hearing for the principal city plan of Songkhla’s deep sea port, Songkhla Province in accordance with The Town and Country Planning Act B.E. 2019, aimed to 1) study the process of organizing meetings to gather public hearing for the principal city plan of Songkhla’s deep sea port, Songkhla Province in accordance with The Town and Country Planning Act B.E. 2019, and 2) examine the level of public hearing from the meetings held to receive feedback for the principal city plan of Songkhla’s deep sea port, Songkhla Province according to The Town and Country Planning Act B.E. 2019. This research was action research conducted through area surveys, posting announcements, publicity, and organizing practical meetings to gather feedback. The meetings involved 173 voluntary participants and utilized questionnaires to assess the suitability of the city plan. Subsequently, statistical analysis was conducted to determine the frequencies and percentage of feedback received.

          The research findings indicate that: 1) The process of organizing meetings to gather public hearing follows a four-step procedure, including: (1) conducting diverse publicity channels such as radio stations, newspapers, the internet, billboards (vinyl signs), and using mobile units, (2) generating documents and posting announcements regarding the planning and development of the principal city plan, (3) organizing meetings to receive feedback and engage in consultations with the public, and (4) compiling reports summarizing the feedback received from the meetings and the consultations with the public. Regarding the level of public hearing from the meetings towards the eight types of plans, it was found that most respondents There is an opinion that the plan is suitable for all economic and social development.
