The Development of the Reading Comprehension of the 9th Grade Students by Using the MIA Reading Method and the Learning Together (LT) Technique

This research aimed to evaluate the impact of combining the MIA reading method with the learning together (LT) technique on the English reading comprehension skills of 9th-grade students. Additionally, it aimed to investigate student satisfaction with this instructional approach. The study involved 40 students from Phothawattanasenee school in the second semester of the academic year 2021. Purposive sampling was employed, utilizing a one-group pretest-posttest design. Research instruments included English reading comprehension lesson plans incorporating the MIA reading method and LT technique, along with pre-test and post-test assessments (both with a reliability of 0.75) and a satisfaction questionnaire. The research data was used to analyze the mean, standard deviation, dependent samples t-test, and content analysis.
The results of the study found that the achievement of English reading comprehension skills of the sample students after learning by using MIA reading method together with learning together (LT) technique was higher than before learning by using MIA reading method together with learning together (LT) technique at the .05 level. Moreover, student satisfaction using with MIA reading method together with learning together (LT) technique was reported as high.
