The Export of Fresh Fruits from Thailand to the People's Republic of China

In this thesis, the researcher investigated factors affecting the quantity of export of fresh fruits durian, longan and mangosteen from the Kingdom of Thailand to the People's Republic of China (PRC). The relevant time series data collected from the period between 1995 and 2010 and analyzed by means of applications of the econometric methods of linear regression analysis.
The results showed that the export price of fresh durian, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the PRC and the free trade agreement (FTA) between Thailand and China were factors affecting the quantity of fresh durian exports to the PRC. The export price of fresh longan and the FTA between Thailand and the PRC were factors affecting the quantity of fresh longan exports to the PRC . The fresh mangosteen export price, the GDP of the PRC, the Thai baht/PRC yuan exchange rate, and the FTA between Thailand and the PRC were factors affecting the quantity of fresh mangosteen exports to the PRC.
