เมืองนิมิตร: “อุตตมทัศน์” ของนักอุดมคติ

Abstract

บทความนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายที่จะวิเคราะห์นวนิยายเรื่อง เมืองนิมิตร หรือชื่อเดิมว่า ความฝันของนักอุดมคติ ของ ม.ร.ว.นิมิตรมงคล นวรัตนซึ่งได้ชื่อว่าเป็นนวนิยายการเมืองของไทยที่นำเสนอสังคมอุดมคติ โดยมุ่งวิเคราะห์ในด้านการนำเสนอแก่นเรื่อง ตัวละคร และมิติทางสังคมของนวนิยายเรื่องนี้ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า นวนิยายเรื่อง เมืองนิมิตร มิได้มีแก่นเรื่องหลักอยู่ที่การนำเสนอภาพสังคมอุดมคติดังที่เคยกล่าวกันมา แต่มีแก่นเรื่องหลักอยู่ที่การนำเสนอความสำคัญของ “อุตตมทัศน์” ซึ่งกำกับการดำเนินชีวิตของบุคคล ตัวละครเอกของเรื่องเป็นผู้ที่แม้จะต้องเผชิญกับความผิดหวังที่ชีวิตจริงแตกต่างจากอุดมคติ แต่ก็ยังยืนหยัดต่อสู้เพื่อคงความคิดเชิงอุดมคติของตัวเองไว้อย่างเข้มแข็ง ในด้านมิติทางสังคม พบว่า นวนิยายเรื่องนี้ ผู้ประพันธ์ได้ประมวลความรู้และความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการเมืองการปกครองที่ควรจะเป็นไปในสังคมที่ไม่จากัดเฉพาะสังคมไทยเท่านั้น แต่ยังขยายวงกว้างไปถึงสังคมโลกอีกด้วยทัศนะอันประกอบด้วยการวิพากษ์วิจารณ์สังคม และความหวังว่าวันหนึ่งข้างหน้าโลกนี้จะกลายเป็นโลกอันสมบูรณ์แบบ ผ่านกลวิธีทางศิลปะของผู้ประพันธ์ทาให้คุณค่าของนวนิยายเรื่องนี้คงทนต่อกาลเวลาที่ผันเปลี่ยนไป Mueang Nimit: ‘Uttamatasana’ of an Idealist

This article aims at analyzing the novel ‚Mueang Nimit‛, previously named A Dream of an Idealist, known as a Thai political novel presenting Utopia, an ideal society by M.R. Nimitaramongkhol Navaratana. The study focuses on the analysis of its theme presentation, main character, and social aspects. It has been found that the main theme of this novel is not the presentation of Utopia as previously stated, but of ‘Uttamatasana’ which determines the ways of life. The main character was the one who was disappointed with the reality in society which was different from his ideal thoughts; however, he strongly continued to maintain them. Regarding social aspects, the author had compiled knowledge of and attitudes towards politics as it should be in the society, not only in Thai but also in the world society. The author’s ideas are the combination of criticism on society and hope that the world will be perfect in the future through literary techniques has maintained the long-lasting value of this novel.
