หน้าที่ของอุปลักษณ์โรคในตำรายา “ขันธวิภังคินี คำกาพย์” ฉบับภาษาไทยถิ่นใต้

Abstract

บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาหน้าที่ของอุปลักษณ์เกี่ยวกับโรคในตำรายาขันธวิภังคินี คำกาพย์ ฉบับภาษาไทยถิ่นใต้ โดยเบื้องต้นจะจำแนกอุปลักษณ์โรคที่ปรากฏในขันธวิภังคินี คำกาพย์ จากนั้นจึงวิเคราะห์ถึงหน้าที่ของอุปลักษณ์เหล่านั้น ด้วยมุมมองทางด้านวัจนปฏิบัติศาสตร์

อุปลักษณ์ที่พบในตำรายาขันธวิภังคินี คำกาพย์ มีทั้งหมด9 ประเภท ได้แก่ อุปลักษณ์มนุษย์ อุปลักษณ์สัตว์ อุปลักษณ์พืช อุปลักษณ์วัตถุ อุปลักษณ์ของเหลว อุปลักษณ์ทิศทาง อุปลักษณ์อาหาร อุปลักษณ์สี และอุปลักษณ์ไฟ อุปลักษณ์เหล่านี้อยู่ในแวดวงความหมายต้นทางที่เป็นรูปธรรมเข้าใจได้ง่าย เพื่อสื่อถึงมโนทัศน์เกี่ยวกับโรคซึ่งเป็นแวดวงความหมายปลายทางที่มีความซับซ้อนหรือเป็นนามธรรม

อุปลักษณ์โรคที่ปรากฏในขันธวิภังคินี คำกาพย์ทำหน้าที่ 2 ด้านคือ หน้าที่ด้านการถ่ายทอดความคิด และหน้าที่ด้านการเรียบเรียงความ ทั้งนี้หน้าที่ที่สำคัญของอุปลักษณ์ในตำรายาขันธวิภังคินี คือ หน้าที่ด้านการถ่ายทอดความคิดที่มุ่งเน้นสร้างความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับมโนทัศน์ของโรคด้วยการเปรียบเทียบกับ มโนทัศน์ที่เคยรับรู้หรือสัมผัสมาก่อนและเข้าใจได้ง่ายกว่า

Metaphors of Illnesses and Their Functions in Khanthaviphangkinee Khamkap Pharmacopoeia, Southern Thai Edition

This article is aimed to study metaphors of illnesses and their functions in Khanthaviphangkinee Khamkap Pharmacopoeia, Southern Thai Edition. All metaphors of illnesses were firstly categorized, and then, analyzed in order to investigate their functions with pragmatic perspective.

The metaphors found in Khanthaviphangkinee Khamkap Pharmacopoeia were divided into 9 categories which were Human, Animal, Plant, Material, Liquid, Direction, Food, Color, and Fire. These metaphors are in the concrete source domain which is easy to understand. They are used to convey concepts of illnesses which are in the complicated or abstract target domain.

The metaphors of illnesses in Khanthaviphangkinee Khamkap Pharmacopoeia have 2 functions which are ideational function and textual function. The most significant function of these metaphors is ideational function which is aimed to build a better understanding of the concepts of illnesses by comparing them with more comprehensible concepts which readers have known and experienced before.
