Study of oboes in Mekong River region to contemporary music the objectives are: 1) Create music from the study of oboes in Mekong River region. This research article is part of thesis “Native Oboes in the Music Culture of the Mekong River”. That study aimed at physical features, sound systems, methods and styles of the free reed bamboo oboe family in all 6 Mekong River region which are China, Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Twelve types of oboes were used for data analysis with in-dept interview, participant and not participant observation from data’s, related research, songs and live music that was played by professional musicians. The data were analyzed to find out the relations among different types of Oboes to come up with creative brand-new music. The results can be described as following. From the study, researcher had written the song called “Pun Parn” which the pattern is modern style, interpreted the sound of oboes in the way that combines modern with culture of Mekong music that oboes is the heart, using techniques and uniqueness of other local music instruments in Mekong river region. The song is 7 minutes long with 5 verses which are 1 “The Beginning” 2 “The Journey” 3 “The Change” 4 “Harmony” 5 “Vast Destination”
