Abstract

The research aimed to develop an institutional repository to support learning and teaching at the faculty of Humanities, Chiang Mai University by using service design. The research methodology is a research and development. The Stanford D. school design process is used for framework to developing. A developed information repository can store and disseminates the academic works of faculty members of the Faculty of Humanities, Chiang Mai University. The working system consists of a resources management system, an information retrieval system, filter data and an information display. The result of the evaluation step found that users were satisfied overall at a high level with the design and usability. In terms of satisfaction at the highest level, it was found that all groups were satisfied with the system usability and uncomplicated. This is in accordance with the service design concept that provides the system user-friendly, convenient, fast and efficient which makes a great user experience lead to the impression of use. The implementation of service design concepts from this study found that applying service design concepts in a system development cycle provides a great user experience with efficient and suitable systems for users in each context.
