Abstract

This study aims: (1) to study the general conditions and requirements for a proper managerial model of educational welfare; (2) to construct a draft model of educational welfare management (EWMNA); and (3) to test their validity and consistency.

A mixed-method research design was used as the research approach for this study. The quantitative approach included a population of six hundred and seventy-five athletes under the Sports Association of Thailand and was acquired by simple random sampling, conducted through questionnaires. This is approximately equivalent to a .89 conviction and equal to the IOC .91. The statistics used for data analysis were percentage, mean standard deviation and confirmatory factor analysis to gain in-depth explanations for the EWMNA model focus group.

Responding to the test validity and consistency, the results (1) indicated the condition of welfare education and its overall composition at every level. (2) Responding to the model of educational welfare, a majority of focus group members suggested that an executive general committee was needed for athlete selection quality and adjustment for a better scholarship system to avoid overlapping, the setting up of a standard system of athlete qualification, and more obviously, the establishment of an evaluating, monitoring and follow-up system of educational and sports accomplishment. Finally, (3) the validity and consistency of the EWMNA model was deemed to be fit.

In conclusion, such a fit EWMNA model for application requires an executive general committee for athlete selection quality and a more consistent scholarship adjustment system. As well, an evaluation, monitoring and follow-up system of educational and sports accomplishment will maximize athletesu benefits.
