Strategic Human Resources in the 4.0 S Curve Ecosystem

Abstract

The 4.0 era is the result of the influence of disruptive technologies that have transformed the traditional world economy by using modern technology and innovation such as digital technology, mobile, robotics, renewable energy and modern energy storage, internet of things, big data, blockchain, etc. To increase value and revenue for various industries that are the foundation of the economy under the government policy of Thailand 4.0. Implementing these policies requires a restructured human resources to be ready and elevated their abilities to apply and use modern technologies. This article was an analytical study to prepare manpower and readiness to adapt to the business ecosystem of ten different industries. The industry in the S Curve, which government, bureaucracies, and private enterprises must prepare to accommodate changes in the influence of disruptive technologies. This study used qualitative research to collect information by discussion of ten groups of entrepreneurs. This study indicated that manpower preparation and adaptability in the business ecosystem of each industry are different. The industries of aviation, good income and medical travels, digital and food will be ready and quickly adapted. Modern automotive, biofuel and bio-chemistry, agriculture and biotechnology industries will be prepared as minor availabilities of the manpower. The robot electronic and logistics industries will be less prepared for manpower availabilities.
