MORALITY AND ETHICS INDOCTRINATION GUIDELINES IN THAI SOCIETY

Abstract

          This article has three purposes of study, which are (1) to study the indoctrination of morality and ethics in Thai society and abroad, (2) to study the guidelines for the indoctrination of morality and ethics for Thai society, and (3) to propose the moral establishing model for development in Thai society. In this study, the data collection method was performed by document synthesis and analysis as well as collecting findings from related research. The target group was research reports, academic articles, and associated books, which will be categorized according to the essential issues and presented with descriptive writing.

          From the synthetic and analysis, it can be found that 1) indoctrination of morality and ethics in Thai society and abroad can be categorized into two main issues, which are the indoctrination in the educational curriculum and family institutions, 2) there are three guidelines for indoctrination of morality and ethics for Thai society that can be applied, they are, to be indoctrinated through the educational curriculum, social institutions, and the use of religious principles to help refine morality and ethics, and 3) model for moral and ethical development in Thai society are educational curriculum reformation, the collaboration by indoctrinated family institutions, ethical practices, and role model promotion, and the participation of public and private organizations in establishing educational guidelines.
