MARXISM AND CRITICAL THEORY: DOMINATION, REPRODUCTION, AND ENCOURAGE CLASS CONSCIOUSNESS IN DIMENSIONS OF HEGEMONY

Abstract
The propose of this review article is to review study and explain main arguments of Marxism and Critical theory under the scope of domination reproduction and encourage class consciousness in dimensions of hegemony by documentary research through 5 articles belong to scholars namely Horkheimer, Althusser, Laclau and Mouffe, and Benjamin. It shows differences in ways of thinking between Marxism and Critical theory which proposes the concept of human is active and critic character, and the idea of self-determination. Moreover, it demonstrates domination and reproduction in social dimensions of hegemony include: naturalization by capitalism, ideology which is reproduced by ideological state apparatus, discourse by hegemonic actor, and technology which it is not only a hegemony but also can counter back and retrace reproduction to encourage class consciousness of proletariat from abuse, disadvantage, and exploitation.
