Factors Affecting Public Participation in Making A 3 - Year Development Plan of Khao Samsip Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Amphoe Khao Chakan, Sakaeo Province

Abstract

The objectives were to: First, it aimed at examining a level of public participation in making a 3-year development plan of Khao Samsip Administrative Organization, Amphoe Khao Chakan, Sa kaeo Province. Also, this study attempted to determine factors influencing public participation in making a 3-year development plan of Khao Samsip Administrative Organization. The sample size in this study was 376 residents, who were 18 years or older of Khao Samsip Sub-district, Amphoe Khao Chagan, Sa Kaeo Province with Two-Stage Sampling Technique was applied is this study: the first stage was stratified sampling and the second stage was simple random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The descriptive statistic test used to analyze the collected data included frequency , percentage, means, and standard deviation.  Also, the inferential statistics, including Multiple Linear Regression with dummy variables, was administered.

The results of this study revealed that the level of public participation in making a 3-year development plan of Khao Samsip Administrative Organization was found at a high level.  Specifically, they rated their participation in making decision with the highest means score, followed by their participation in receiving benefits, taking part in implementation, and in monitoring and evaluating the plan. Finally, it was shown that the factors in relation to occupation, amount of monthly income, and awareness of the rights in participating in a 3year development plan making of Khao Samsip Administrative Organization affected the level of participation among the subjects at a statistical significant level of .05, .05, and .01, respectively.
