The Guidelines for Social Welfare Administration for the Elderly in Thai Society

Abstract

The purpose of this article was to present the elderly concept, the elderly demographic situation, the social welfare policy for the elderly, type of social welfare for the elderly, administration, and the guidelines for elderly social welfare administration. They were as follows: 1) the seriously support of the government and the central official sections for social welfare administration for the elderly 2) the strengthening of performance and good governance of the national savings fund 3) to encourage and promote the local administrative organization working with the local community as a strong partnership 4) promoting a good attitude and essential understanding for elderly living 5) promoting a good attitude towards elderly persons and the important understanding of the elderly for young age and workforce age.
