Abstract

There are many methods for studying history; these include examining a country’s daily life, beliefs, customs, culture, and social structure. Moreover, studying the roles of the elite can shed light on a country’s other historical contexts. in Cambodian politics, Sihanouk had the greatest number of roles since the country attained independence in 1953. Many of his roles both before and after serving as Cambodia’s leader had a great impact on this country’s politics.  This article attempts to understand Sihanouk’s role in politics between 1941 and 1978. The important points include living as a young prince, as a successor, entering politics, and losing power.
