Talking about Methodology

Abstract

The aim of this article is to illustrate the methodology of conversation analysis, or CA. CA’s method explores ways in which people talk and how they use techniques in their conversation. The first example shows how CA is applicable in studying social interaction during business press conferences. The second example illustrates how CA is used to analyze talk-in-interaction between a nurse and a patient with breast cancer.
