Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) compare grade 7 students’ learning achievement in science on the topic of process of weather change before and after the implementation of cooperative learning management using learning together (LT) technique with mind maps, 2) compare students’ analytical thinking abilities on the topic of process of weather change before and after the implementation of cooperative learning management using LT technique with mind maps, and 3) investigate students’ satisfaction towards cooperative learning management using LT technique with mind maps. The samples of this study were 30 grade 7 students who enrolled in the second semester of 2018 academic year at an extra large secondary school in Bangkok. These students were randomly selected by cluster random sampling method. The research instruments consisted of lesson plans, a learning achievement test, an analytical thinking ability test and a students’ satisfaction survey. The data were analyzed by means, standard deviation, t-test for dependent sample.

The results of this study revealed as follow:

  • The average score of students' learning achievement after the implementation of cooperative learning management using LT technique with mind maps was statistically significant higher than that before implementation at .01 level.
  • The average score of students' analytical thinking abilities after the implementation of cooperative learning management using LT technique with mind maps was statistically significant higher than that before implementation at .01 level
  • the students’ satisfaction towards cooperative learning management using LT technique with mind maps was at a high level.
