บทคัดย่อ

บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสำรวจและศึกษาสถานภาพงานวิจัยในวงการวิชาการจีนเกี่ยวกับชาวจีนโพ้นทะเลในสยามประเทศรอบหกทศวรรษ โดยรวบรวมบทความงานวิจัย บทความวิชาการ และวิทยานิพนธ์ระดับบัณฑิตศึกษาที่ได้รับการตีพิมพ์ในรูปแบบฉบับสมบูรณ์ในช่วงปี ค.ศ. 1962-2023 ผลการศึกษาพบว่า บรรดานักวิจัยในวงการวิชาการจีนที่มุ่งศึกษาเกี่ยวกับชาวจีนโพ้นทะเลในสยามประเทศมีการตีพิมพ์เผยแพร่ผลงานอย่างต่อเนื่อง ซึ่งในช่วง ค.ศ. 1962-2023 สำรวจพบงานวิจัยจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 33 รายการ โดยประเด็นที่ได้รับความสนใจมากที่สุดคือกิจกรรมสมาคมและสังคมชาวจีนในสยามประเทศ รองลงมาคือเศรษฐกิจการค้าระหว่างจีนและสยามประเทศ นโยบายของรัฐบาลสยามต่อประเทศจีนและการแลกเปลี่ยนทางวัฒนธรรมระหว่างจีนและสยามประเทศ ตามลำดับ บทความฉบับนี้แสดงให้เห็นถึงวิวัฒนาการของการศึกษาเกี่ยวกับชาวจีนโพ้นทะเลในสยาม ตั้งแต่จุดเริ่มต้นจากผลงานการแปลชิ้นแรกเริ่มโดยนักวิชาการตะวันตก จนค่อย ๆ พัฒนาเป็นการผลิตผลงานวิจัยของนักวิชาการชาวจีน อย่างไรก็ดี การศึกษาเรื่องนี้ในวงการวิชาการจีนยังมีจำนวนน้อยเมื่อเทียบกับชาวจีนโพ้นทะเลในภูมิภาคอื่น ๆ การวิจัยนับตั้งแต่ ค.ศ. 2007 เป็นต้นมา ผลงานหลายเรื่องเริ่มมีประเด็นใหม่ ๆ ทั้งมีมุมมองหลากหลาย มีการปรับระเบียบวิธีการศึกษาในเชิงพหุวิทยาการ และเนื้อหาการวิจัยมีการเจาะลึกในรายละเอียดมากยิ่งขึ้น
